The most extensive exposition in the city of Banská Štiavnica is not only about mining
technique. Mining itself – extraction of raw materials begins with the discovery of deposits,
geological survey, they are used in various work tools,
mining maps, lamps and means of transport are needed.

Underground water often has to be removed to work there.
Man uses pumping equipment and to drive them, as well as to drive others
equipment used in the extraction and processing of raw materials requires energy
(horse, water, compressed air, tram).

These are, as well as the simpler activities that mining work represents, are in
exposition presented from the oldest archaeological finds to the 20th century.
