ZOO Košice

The Košice Zoo is located in the outskirts of Košice, in the local part of Kavečany. The ZOO is about 10 km from the city center. With an area of ​​288 hectares, it is one of the largest in Europe. It has long been in the top ten sought-after tourist destinations in eastern Slovakia. More than 200,000 visitors visit it annually. The vast area with the original Carpathian biotope is an attraction for tourists from all over Europe.

ZOO Košice keeps about 1,500 animals, which are represented in almost 300 species. It is the only one in Slovakia where visitors can see common seals, penguins, large condors and many other species.
